The indonesian island Lombok has suffered a series of severe earthquakes!

Starting in August `18 the island Lombok has suffered a series of severe earthquakes. Unfortunately friends of us are affected by the events - they lost their home due to the massive earthquakes and are depending on our help and thankful for every help they can get! When you click on the foto, you can see footage of the village where our Friend Irwan lives with his family.

Down below you can find our story, why we want to help and how you can be a part of that :-)

They hosted us with love  - now it`s time to return the favour!

As some of you may know, we - Florian and Melissa - have been to Bali and Lombok last year. We had the pleasure to stay three nights at a lavely familys home via Couchsurfing (which means totally for free). Irwan and his (huuuge) family hosted us and shared their home, food and time with us. We had the pleasure to get to know their Parents, Uncles, Cousins, newborn child and many more people who live in their village. The Majority of Lombok`s population is very poor and lives under very simplistic circumstances. Back then we delighted to see the way they treated us, integrated us and showed around at the island eventho they hardly have anything. These 3 days have made it very clear to us again how different life is down there, and in many other parts of the world. Before we left we left them some of our good stuff we didn't need anymore.
Since then we always kept contact and now that the severe earthquakes have occurred on Lombok we wanted to know whether "our" people are doing well. Unfortunately we had to learn that their house and large parts of the village have been destroyed. The family now lives under a "tent" with a cotton roof. They are unharmed but currently without a firm roof over their heads. We'll send them money. If you don't ask, you don't get an answer - hence this text. We never actually donate, but we like it when other people get involved and are enthusiastic about it. That's what we're doing in this case. We have never made such a call before and hope never to have to make it again for such reason.
The phrase "every penny counts" is not really a phrase. With one euro you can get fresh water, food and most important  - a roof over your head. And if its only a penny, our efforts have paid off.
If you can spare a beer this weekend and instead send those 1,70€/$ via PayPal to https://paypal.me/LetshelpIrwan - you can become a part of our mission.👌 If you don't have a Paypal account you can also transfer it to our bank account (you can find Melissa's contact above)!
And if this post only leads to some people thinking about what really counts in life, we have achieved something!
That`s been a lot of talk, so from now on we'll let the pictures from last year tell the story. On request we can also establish a contact on site!

Cheers and have a good day :-)

P.S.: The money transfer is handled by WesternUnion due to their low fee structure compared to e.g. Moneygram. We talked to Irwan and asked them what they needed the most and that is of course food and clean water as well as a waterproof tent because it is raining a lot at the moment. The next step is to repair the house and make it habitable again.

Some memories
